A maintenance kit for the pieces you own
What it is
A small wooden box. Eight items inside — for cleaning, polishing, repairing. Made to be used, not stored. Each item refills separately, so the kit itself lasts as long as the furniture does.
Pair your IDÉE Piece with a Repair Kit at purchase, or add one any time.
1,200 EGP. One-time kit; refills sold separately.
Why it matters
This is how a wood piece keeps its shape across decades. How small scratches stay small. How a piece lived with for ten years still looks lived with — not used up.
A piece maintained well outlasts a piece replaced often. The kit is how we make that possible.
The Kit — eight items, used differently, refilled separatelly.
01 — Atelier Gloves · Cotton
For the hands while the wax is still wet.
Soft cotton. The same pair the maker wore when finishing the piece. Wear them when applying oil or wax — keeps the finish even, keeps the wax off the skin.
02 — Wax Touch-Up Crayons · 3 grades
For the small scratches the eye finds first.
Three tones, matched to the wood. Press the wax into the scratch, buff smooth with the cloth. The mark stays. The scratch goes.
03 — Pure Linseed Oil · 100ml
Cold-pressed. The oldest finish there is.
Blended in small batches in Cairo. Twice a year — once at the start of summer, once at the end — apply with the cloth, leave for an hour, buff off what remains. Feeds the grain back.
04 — Plant-Based Spray · 250ml
A gentle cleaner for everyday surfaces.
Plant-derived. Safe on wood and finished surfaces. For dust, fingerprints, and the small marks of a household. Spray, wipe with the cloth, leave nothing behind.
05 — Beeswax Polish · Brass tin
A little, often.
Pure beeswax, blended with a few natural oils. In a brass tin. Apply with the brush or the cloth, in small amounts. For seasonal care of wood surfaces — table tops, chair arms, anywhere the hand returns to.
06 — Soft Brush · Boar bristle
Reaches what the cloth can't.
Soft bristles, brass ferrule, solid ash handle. For joinery corners, carved details, the seam between cushion and frame. One brush, many jobs.
07 — Application Cloths · 2 pieces
One to apply. One to buff.
Two lint-free cotton cloths, marked FOR OIL and FOR POLISH so they don't cross. Wash between uses; the cotton softens over the years.
08 — Beeswax Block · 50g
Raw and pure. For sticky drawers and dry joints.
Solid block, pure beeswax. Rub along drawer runners, cabinet edges, anywhere wood meets wood and starts to drag. The wax fills the friction.
